Bahia Salina del Sur
1/250 sec at f/8

Taken from aboard M/V Wanderbird. Bahia Salina del Sur is a remote bay on the east end of Vieques. This beautiful area is beginning to recover from years of live bombing exercises by the US. Navy. The Bahia Salina del Sur is currently part of the Vieques National Wildlife Refuge (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service) and is closed to the public for safety reasons. 1. Some of the ordinance used were Depleted Uranium (DU) and there are unaccounted for pieces of the USS Killen, which was part of A-bomb testing in the late 1950's.
Beautiful as it is, and I will be visiting the island soon iIt is advised that you proceed with caution on the east end.
