Brooklyn Bridge, NYC

The city that never sleeps is wide awake in this long exposure shot taken near the Brooklyn Tower facing lower Manhattan. In 2006, a forgotten Cold War era bunker was found within the East River anchorage of the bridge. The bunker, discovered by City workers, contained late 50’s and early 60’s emergency supplies (crackers, medical supplies, and water) that were being stored for a potential nuclear attack by the Soviet Union. Photo Featured on UK Culture Website - The Sample

Congrats to my friend Nutritious for his interview on The Sample, a UK website that has the common aim of bringing to light all the hidden gems (clothes, art, and music) not only in Liverpool, but across the UK. The interview featured two of my photographs and an awesome awesome shout out!  : ) Check it out when you get a minute.

Brooklyn Photo Installation Until Early September - Patisserie Colson - 374 9th Street at 6th Ave, Brooklyn, NY

I'm really excited to announce a month-long photo installation on the walls of Patisserie Colson located at 9th Street and 6th Avenue in Brooklyn. The installation is comprised of nine photographic scenes from Coney Island and elsewhere in Brooklyn. The collection features historic Coney Island attractions like the Cyclone roller-coaster and Parachute Jump photographed "off-season", evoking a sort of barren nostalgia, as well the Boardwalk in full summer swing during the annual Mermaid Parade. These limited edition photographs are 11x16 and have been printed on canvas and wrapped around a wooden frame. They look fantastic and really complement the space. The prints will be up until early September and are available for sale.

Please take a moment in August to visit Patisserie Colson* and view the installation. Don't forget to have a cup of coffee and and one of their amazing croissants while you are there, probably the best in the city!

Show Duration: August 7th through early September, 2011
Location: 374 9th Street (at 6th Avenue), Brooklyn, NY - MAP

*Brooklyn’s Patisserie Colson is the New York manifestation of Hubert Colson’s beloved establishment of the same name in Mons, Belgium. Hubert’s confectionery and culinary creations have brought sweetness and smiles to countless people over twenty years since its creation in 1986. Hubert is the author of four cookbooks and is one of Belgiums most important culinary ambassadors. It is with this same romantic ambition that Parisian born filmmaker Yonatan Israel opened New York’s outpost of this beloved bakery, the place he trained with Hubert and his team. Hubert, Yonatan and staff are dedicated to continuing the tradition of Patisserie Colson – serving the best possible products made with love and the best ingredients available
